Data Analysis and Visualization using R (May 2012)
High throughput biological data sets are growing exponentially both in size and complexity. Extracting meaningful information from this data requires not only programming skills, but also understanding of the analysis workflows and visualization tools that help to condense a large amount of information into a comprehensible story. This course will introduce ways to address the… Read more »
Cloud Computing for Bioinformatics (May 2012)
Our spring Cloud Computing for Bioinformatics workshop sponsored by the UC Davis Bioinformatics Core at Genome Center workshop will be held May 29-30, 2012. The course will cover the basics of cloud computing with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) including account signup, overview of services offered focusing on those key to bioinformatics, identity… Read more »
RNAseq Bioinformatics Analysis Workshop (May 2012)
RNA-seq is replacing microarray technology as a new tool to study transcriptome changes through massively parallel sequencing. The ability to read cDNA sequences directly makes it possible to study non-model organisms as well as model organisms with unprecedented sensitivity and reproducibility. This course will introduce next-generation sequencing platforms including Illumina, 454 and PacBio systems, and… Read more »
